Liam is three years old! We simply cannot believe it at times. He is such a joy in our lives that time seems only to speed up as he grows. Lucky boy that he is, Liam got to celebrate his birthday three times: once at school on his birthday, where his classmates sang Happy Birthday to him (twice, once in English and once in Bosnian) over homemade banana cake (brought in by yours truly), and then he got to open a surprise gift--a dinosaur puzzle (LOVE that school); the second time was at home that evening with his mommy and daddy, where we sang Happy Birthday together (yes, Liam included) over homemade chocolate chip muffins; and the final time was Saturday at his birthday party at our house. The weather did not cooperate for the lovely fall morning party I envisioned of kids playing in the yard and adults enjoying our patio. It was cold and rainy, and we were forced to stay inside, but we had a great time all the same. We invited a few other Embassy families to help us celebrate, and Liam had a ball. It was so great to see him finally "get it." He knew it was his birthday and that everyone was there for him. We had no trouble getting him to sit in his chair so we could sing, wait for the proper time to blow out the candle, and he also opened all his gifts himself in one sitting. It truly was a wonderful day! Pictures are below. Our love to all!
