Please know, these aren't exactly random acts of violence. Arabs and Jews are targeting one another, and most of the violence occurs in and around the Old City, where we do not live (or visit anymore). That being said, we always practice situational awareness, and we have plans in place should we decide it's time for the boys and me to leave. We will keep you posted, of course, should anything change. But for now, we simply ask for your continued prayers. For our safety, for our friends' safety, and for peace to find the hearts of all who call this place home.
Today has been a good day though. It has been quiet. No attacks as of 2 p.m., despite today being called a "Day of Rage." Liam's school hosted its annual fall sports day and family picnic. Sam and I got to watch Liam play a few of the games, and then we headed to the hill for a picnic with friends and where Geoff got to join us (HOORAY!!! The situation means long hours for Geoff these days.) The weather was sunny and warm, and it was so nice to feel at ease outside, just enjoying the great weather and time with friends. I hope we get to enjoy many more days like this in the eight months we have left here.
Sam enjoyed moving and stacking cones at Sports Day.
Liam liked all the games,
but he told me afterward,
"I'm really good at basketball, Mommy."
