The last of Camping with the Beduoins

While we were enjoying the fire, several things were happening.  1) Our hosts were busy preparing dinner.  This woman was making our bread on this nifty contraption.

2. A group of British tourists arrived for dinner, just in time to see the men take the lamb out of the ground.

It was delicious!  There were other side dishes besides the potatoes and tomatoes...various salads, olives and hummus, etc.  We served ourselves buffet style and sat with a lovely group of the British tourists.  One nice lady, Marilyn, took a liking to Liam (and he to her) and let Liam talk to her almost the entire dinner.

3.  These sweet women were enamored with Sam and asked to hold him.  Wish we'd gotten a photo of that!

After dinner, more music began, with the addition of a percussion instrument.  This lead little Sharuk (Shah ROOK, whose name means "sunrise" in Arabic) to dance on the bar!

Sam and I retired to bed pretty quickly, but I am afraid Sam was not too big of a fan of camping.  He was awake a lot, and even Liam woke up twice to climb into bed with me.  Needless to say, not a lot of sleeping took place.  The shots below take place at dawn.  At least they look happy!

After we got up, had a lukewarm "trickle" (wouldn't call it a shower) and some breakfast, we headed out for Petra.  Good-bye Rock Camp!  Thanks for the memories!
