Jordan Road Trip, Jerash

About 45 minutes from Amman, is one of the most impressive sites of Roman ruins imaginable, the ancient Decapolis city of Jerash.  In Jerash, you can see ruins from a small hippodrome, a small amphitheatre, temples, and a colonnade.  The colonnade is nothing short of magnificent.  Pictures fail to capture its size and glory.

 The Amphitheatre
(and me wearing Sam trying to squeeze past two lazy French tourists
who sat down ON THE STEPS instead of moving over 1 foot to the seats)
