10 years, part 5

The morning of our departure, we got to wake up luxuriously late...at 7 am!  Ha!  But when your kids are up at 6, no matter what, 7 feels divine.  And to go enjoy breakfast and coffee at our own pace was simply heavenly!  After breakfast, we set out to explore the last few parts of Old Acre.

We walked down to the water and climbed the wall there.  There were some great views!

Then we made our way toward the Templars' Tunnel.

This tunnel is a pretty recent discovery, having been unearthed in 1994 and only completely open to the public since 2007.  It gets low in parts, and even I had to duck.

Once we surfaced, we headed toward the art museum, passing a fisherman putting hooks on lines and a couple of the town's mosques.

Once we entered the art museum, we quickly realized it was not for us, not being huge fans of modern art.

After the seeing the "art", we headed back to pack up for the 3 hour drive home.  Good-bye, Acre!  Thanks for a lovely visit!
