Aqaba

After Masada and a lengthy border crossing (due to our arriving right at Friday noon prayer time), we made it to Aqaba.  It was a nice, relaxing weekend that included seafood, beach and pool time, and even a camel ride for Liam!

Our hotel was located on a protected inlet of the Gulf of Aqaba, 

so the waves were very gentle.  

 We had three lovely pools, which everyone enjoyed.

And Liam had his first camel ride!

On our last day, we stayed at the hotel until nearly check-out time, in hopes of tiring out Sam enough for a nap on the 5 hour drive home.  Sam fell asleep, but so did big brother!  Poor buddy.

And just as we hit Jericho (one of the hottest places on Earth) to climb the big hill back to Jerusalem, our air conditioning went out.  Luckily, we were on the last 45 minutes of our drive, but here was the temp. outside according to our car.  Yeesh!  (We had to wait a couple of weeks for the needed part to arrive from the States, but we are very grateful to have the AC in full working order once again.)
