Beach camping

Over Labor Day weekend, we went camping on the beach for a night with our friends and neighbors, the Potters.  We arrived late Saturday afternoon, and Beth and I watched the kids play in the surf and sand while Josh and Geoff set up our tents.  We had a pretty nice set-up, and once everyone started to leave the beach (the workweek in Israel is Sunday-Thursday), we also had the beach almost completely to ourselves.

The only hiccup was when some fishermen showed up quite late.  Out of the giant expanse of empty beach, they set-up right next to our tents.  They talked and laughed from 3 a.m. onward.  Then Sam woke up well before 5:30.  So, the adults didn't get a whole lot of sleep, but the kids had a blast.  And that is what counts, right?

Sand toy fun, and the men at work

Liam and Addi realized they both had on pirate bathing suits. ARGH!

Sam loves the water.
He thinks he can swim.
It is WORK keeping him alive.

Gorgeous sunset over the Med

Kids rinsed off and enjoying the campfire.

Our set-up, complete with me helping a dude borrow some of our fire.
