Tastes of Spring, and then Winter again

Jerusalem has entered that odd time of year when it can be 80 degrees and sunny one day and 55 and rainy/windy the next.  We are trying to take advantage of the good days (and the bad) since we are now in double digits until our departure (87 until we take off, but who's counting?).

Here we are after school at one of our local playgrounds on a nice day.

The boys then built a "store."

On St. Patrick's Day, the Consulate held a party and hosted an egg hunt. Sadly, winter made a return and it was bitterly cold and windy.

Liam tasted his first cotton candy.

Sam and Liam colored some Easter crowns,
and Liam got an Easter egg painted on his face.

Then it was time for the egg hunt.  Sam was a bit miserable by then and wasn't quite fast enough to grab any eggs on his own (kids are VICIOUS--where were their parents?). He kept heading for the exit saying, "Home."  Then Liam took a couple of eggs from his own basket for Sam to "find." Geoff and I say it all the time...he is the kindest brother we have ever met.

Miserable from the cold but trying to smile about the chocolate

 High-fiving the creepy bunny
Sam would have NONE of it, and I don't blame him.

Liam had a successful hunt and was very happy afterward.
