Yep. The cream, very normal looking building is the "castle."
I guess we have to be impressed at its size.
It is the largest in the world.
I guess we also should be impressed that Winceslaus ordered it built.
You know that Christmas song, Good King Winceslas? That's him.
The ball room
A view from a side room--see the TV tower in the upper left?
The throne room, above and below
This room was cool--they had the hundreds of crests covering the walls and ceiling,
and wonderfully detailed furniture.
It seemed to be some sort of library/office.
After the castle, we moved on to a small chapel, the Basilica of St. George.
It is very old, dating back to 920.
Our last stop on our tour was Golden Lane,
a now mock medieval town that once housed Franz Kafka.
It has little souvenir shops and set-ups like the one below, which show medieval life.
Liam enjoyed exploring the dungeon while wielding his new hatchet.
One last look on our way out,
at the cathedral, and then the city.
And then one last Czech beer.
WE LOVED PRAGUE and hope to go back one day!
