Thanksgiving in Zagreb, part 3

Friday morning, the Saxtons' nanny came over to keep the kids and Anna took Geoff and me back into Zagreb's city center (poor Josh had to work after watching a very late Texas Tech game).  We walked up a pedestrian street of shops, bars, and restaurants,

where one advertised this very Balkan combo of a coke and a coffee.

We also passed through this old gate of the city,
which is now a shrine to the Virgin Mary,
the Kamenita Vrata.
An earthquake in 1880 destroyed much of the city.
This site was spared and is now a shrine to thank Mary
for her saving grace and interventions.

And we last saw the Church of St. Mark, famous for its tiled roof.
We then headed back to Dolac to get things for dinner.
Chef Geoff made pork chops.  MMMMMM!
