The next day dawned with freezing rain, not snow. Geoff had to go in, but school was canceled again, so the boys and I stayed inside, warm and dry, praying for the power to stay on (which it did)! By the afternoon, the snow came back and decided to stick a little bit. So once again, that night after the wind died down, Liam went back out and made snow angels.
Friday morning was more of the same... ice and freezing rain. So no school yet again. It was starting to feel a bit like
Groundhog Day (the Bill Murray movie), or perhaps a scene from Laura Ingalls Wilder's
The Long Winter (but without the straw-twisting-into-sticks-for-fuel and nothing-but-potatoes-to-eat parts). By Saturday morning though, the storm was finally over, and my men raced outside to enjoy the little bit of snow before it all melted (which it did by that afternoon).
Liam tried to have a snowball fight with Sam.
And although he could not fight back, he loved it!
Moving around was a bit tricky.
But there was enough snow on our table for a teeny snowman!
Here are some shots a friend of ours took from our nearby Promenade
(the olive grove park with the great view of the Old City).
Snow covered Jerusalem is quite pretty!
If you look closely, you can see the Old City in this one.
